Carlos Escasena, MD
Carlos Escasena, MD, is a neurologist with more than 14 years of experience. Dr. Escasena provides care at Sunset Neurological & Psychiatry Group in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Escasena specializes in diagnosing and treating many kinds of headaches, including tension headaches, migraines, and cluster headaches, as well as occipital neuralgia and headaches caused by the overuse of medications.
After earning his Doctor of Medicine at Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara (UAG) in Zapopan, Mexico, Dr. Escasena relocated to the United States, completing his internal medicine internship at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, New York.
Dr. Escasena did his residency in neurology at State University of New York (SUNY), Downstate Medical Center in the borough of Brooklyn in New York City. He continued his training, completing a fellowship in headache medicine at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center (now called Mount Sinai Morningside Main Hospital) in New York City.
The experienced neurologist is a professional member of the American Headache Society (AHS), the International Headache Society (IHS), and the American Academy of Neurology (AAN).
